about me

Hi, I am Yukiko! I am a digital designer based in Denver, CO.

I am a person who is ...

Passionate

Born and raised in Japan, I moved to the US in 2017. I attended local schools until college and worked for 4 years in Japan. Moving to another country had been my biggest dream, and I pursued it relentlessly until it became a reality.

Alongside this, a lifelong desire to become a designer led me to venture into the digital design field. To produce better products, I am committed to continually improving my design skills and never ceasing my efforts.

Experienced in business fields

With 8 years of experience in the business field, including 4 years in sales roles in Japan, and holding an MBA, I bring a wealth of expertise to UX/UI design.

Through my experience, I have honed skills in collaborating with teams, negotiating project enhancements, and effectively visualizing information and data in documents and presentations.

Curious

At the core of my personality is curiosity. I enjoy sports, the arts, learning new languages, exploring the world, experiencing different cultures, and getting to know people. These are all facets of my natural character.

This curiosity also drives my deep interest in understanding user needs and fuels my passion for aesthetic design.

Work process

Here are my fundamental steps in the design process. I am always flexible and strive to create better digital products.

1. Initial Outline

At the beginning of a design project, I ensure a deep understanding of the project's purpose, goals, and challenges, as well as the information architecture, including menus and features of the digital product. I also conduct research if necessary and collect specific assets such as logos, images, and icons if provided.

2. Wireframing

Once the project brief is outlined and assets are collected, I create low- and mid-fidelity wireframes to ensure the layout and structure are sound. I share these wireframes with stakeholders and refine them until they are satisfied.

3. Prototyping

After creating solid wireframes, I move to the high-fidelity stage to design visually by applying fonts, adding colors, and evoking emotions. In terms of UX/UI design and Webflow development, I also incorporate animations into the project.

4. Handoff

It's time to hand off the digital product to stakeholders! The handoff method depends on the project, so we decide on the best approach accordingly.
